I’ve been using PyCharm for years. It’s not free, but also not crazy expensive assuming you use it for work. I tried VScode recently and got rid of it after a day. It loads fast, true, but it also didn’t offer most of what PyCharm offers out of the box. Sure there are plugins, but VScode didn’t even want to reformat a JSON file …

As for Notebooks – PyCharm supports them natively and the support is slowly getting better.
