These languages all serve different purposes, and unlike the current fuss over languages like Julia, when these languages came into being there was none of the hype you are part of with this article. Just for your information, there are tons of applications still being written in C and C++, and Java hasn’t exactly expired either. Funny detail, in case you missed it: all of these are used in parallel to and in combination with Python.
